Textiles

What are textiles?

In short, textiles are of two types:

1- Woven: involves weaving a set of longer yarns (weft) with a set of cross-section yarns (warp). This is done by a machine called a knitting machine that has different types. Some still do weaving by hand, but a large amount of this is done by machine. Yarn weaving and crocheting involves weaving a loop of yarn that is formed either by thread yarn or crochet hook in a line.

2- Non-woven: It is said that textiles are not made of warp and weft and are formed by a mass of fibers that are intertwined and sunk in different ways. Non-woven textiles are a group of textiles that are not woven (not woven) or knotted, for example felt.

 Ingredient:

Textiles can be made from a variety of materials. These materials come from 4 main sources: animals (wool and silk), plants (cotton, linen, and hemp), minerals (asbestos, glass fibers) and synthetics (nylon, polyester and acrylic). In the past, all fabrics were made from natural fibers, such as plants, animals, and minerals. In the 20th century, these materials are also extracted from oil, such as nylon. The strength and durability of fabrics are different. From delicate fabrics to thick and linen fabrics.

What is Home Textile?

The term “textile” is a Latin word derived from (texere) and means “to weave”. Textiles are woven fabrics that are actually the same fabric, thread or yarn. Home textiles are the same fabrics that are used in furniture and home furnishing. These textiles include a wide range of functional and decorative products, they can also be fabric products that are used only to beautify the house. In fact, our lives would be a little different without these products.

Home textiles or upholstery fabrics are made of natural and synthetic fabrics. At present, these textile fabrics are a mixture of both strong and durable. These products make our lives easier and give a defined beauty to our homes. Home textiles are not all textiles and fabrics, for example your clothes are not home textiles, even if you are at home or wearing them!
